On weekdays, you probably don't feel like spending 45 minutes in the kitchen to prepare dinner. You don't have to, though. Plenty of quick recipes can be on the table within 20 minutes. Ingredients for this halloumi pasta with Boursin
For this dish, you don't need much:

Use a pasta of your choice. Fusilli, farfalle, and penne are suitable. I always use whole wheat pasta because it contains more fiber.
Boursin cheese is the seasoning for this dish. For the most flavor, choose the version with garlic and fine herbs.
Fresh of frozen broccoli for a vegetable boost.
The saltiness and texture of halloumi cheese add a nice bite and flavor to this dish.
Pine nuts are delicious as a topping for a crunchy element.
Use fresh lemon zest for a citrusy, fresh touch.
Meal prep tip: Cut the broccoli and halloumi ahead of time and roast the pine nuts ahead of time. This will make putting the dish on the table even faster!
Variation Tips
This pasta recipe with Boursin is a versatile dish you can quickly adapt. Here are a few tips:
- Add more vegetables: Fresh spinach and sautéed slices of zucchini or leeks are delicious additions to this pasta with halloumi. Sautéed mushrooms are also tasty.
- Meat or fish: substitute the halloumi for sautéed chicken strips or smoked salmon.
- Add some chili flakes to your pasta to spice it.
What to do with leftover pasta?

Have some pasta with Boursin left over? No problem! If you have leftovers, you can store them in the refrigerator for up to 2 days in an airtight box. Just be aware that pasta often gets a bit drier after reheating. Therefore, add a dash of milk, cream, or just some water when reheating.
Leftover tip: Did you cook too much pasta? Then, turn it into a pasta salad. Let the pasta cool and mix in pesto and fresh vegetables for a delicious cold pasta salad.
Frequently Asked Questions
Ribbed pasta works well in this recipe because the sauce sticks to it. Fusilli is a favorite, and farfalle or penne also works well.
This is a complete dish, but a fresh arugula salad can be served alongside the pasta.
The garlic & fine herbs Boursin goes well with this recipe, but you can also use a budget herb cheese. Do use a real herb cheese and not a cream cheese like Philadelphia. That gives a different result that doesn't go well with this dish.

Boursin lemon pasta
Equipment
- chef's knife
- saucepan
- frying pan
Ingredients
- 8 oz uncooked pasta (e.g., fusilli, whole wheat)
- 1 broccoli
- 1 package Boursin cheese (garlic & fine herbs)
- 1 package halloumi cheese
- 1 lemon
- pine nuts (to taste)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in slightly salted water, according to the instructions on the package.
- Meanwhile, cut the broccoli into small florets and cook for 5 minutes (save yourself some dishes and just add them to the pasta-pan!)
- Cut the halloumi into small cubes and fry on high heat. Sometimes, a lot of liquid is released from the cheese; drain this off. Otherwise, the halloumi will rather cook instead of fry nicely golden brown on all sides.
- Meanwhile, toast the pine nuts in a dry frying pan until golden brown. Shake frequently, as they burn quickly.
- Drain the pasta and broccoli and add the Boursin cheese to the pan. Because of the heat, the cream cheese will melt. Stir well so the pasta is lightly coated with cream cheese. Also, stir the halloumi cubes into the pasta.
- Garnish the Boursin pasta with lemon zest and pine nuts.
